Amex Gold [UK] Lounge Access?

I'm confused, on Amex's website they say I can get "Two complimentary airport VIP lounge visits each year" but in the T&Cs it mentions something called lounge Club. Is this with Priority Pass (like Amex Plat cards) or someone else?

Priority Pass and Lounge Club are owned by the same firm. It may simply be that they want to offer more than one "brand" to avoid the appearance of "me too" offering by multiple card issuers (etc), or to introduce another element of price differentiation. I would not assume that all Priority Pass lounges are, or will be, Lounge Club locations.

Seems to be run by the same company, but perhaps with a reduced number of lounges (a la Priority Pass Select) - see the http://flybook.biz/forum/trave...rity-pass.html thread

Sorry for bumping but I found this thread quite useful as I thought Lounge Club was just a synonym for Priority Pass...

Anyway, related question - does a supplementary gold cardholder get their own Lounge Club card (making it 4 free visits a year in total)?

And am I right in saying that Lounge Club will charge 15 if you take a guest, but one guest is free with a Priority Pass (that you get with the UK Amex Plat)?

No Lounge Club card for the supp cardholder (certainly not that I've seen anyway!) and yes one guest is free with the Plat PP, but no free guests with the Lounge Club (although I think you can use your two free visits at the same time)

Amex Gold [UK] Lounge Access?

Yes you can use your 2 free visits at once. As for the lounges, you cannot use a all the lounges that PP can use. For example- at LHR T3, you cannot use the no.1 lounge, only the service air lounge which is not as nice.

Thanks

Jamesie. I would be interested to know too. Mrs flyoff was surprised that no new card or notification was received from Amex at the anniversary of her Gold card. Amex said everything would be OK. At the No1 lounge at LGW they couldn't say if it would be valid so checks and charging to your account would happen after the visit. I think you may need to contact Amex.

Correct. Priority Pass / Lounge Club attendants know nothing about the details of your membership. They cannot tell you if, or the amount, you will be billed for a visit.

The T&C State:

You will be entitled to two complimentary lounge visits at participating lounges each year you hold a valid Preferred Rewards Gold Card, which may be used by the primary Cardmember OR by the primary Cardmember and one guest.

So does this mean me & one guest uses up my yearly free allowance of two visits?

Apologies for asking this but the Lounge Club website is next to useless.

They expire. So you'll only have two free to use.
