Hi, wondering what the actual flying time is for BA JFK-LHR when gate to gate is 7hrs. Thanks!

IAMORGAN is spot on. However, gate to gate can be more than 7 hours. I've sat on the JFK tarmac for 1.5 hours

As have I, deicing a 747 is a mean feat

And even faster if the winds are good - March 2nd (from BA @ Twitter)
Extraordinarily fast flights across the pond last night, BA116 arrived 90mins early after a flight of 5h29m from JFK, not bad for a 777!

You do get nice westerly winds on occasion. OT I know but I had a flight to DEL last year which landed 65 minutes early and the Pilot told us we had been pushed along by a 250 mph tail wind. But the baggage handlers made up for it by taking even longer than usual to get the bags on the conveyor so the cab to cab time was the same as always.

It is not long is it.

I find that LHR-BAH, which is a little bit shorter than JFK-LHR, is always a little bit too short for my preference. It would be nice to watch two movies, or at least both watch a movie and have a good couple of hours reading a book.

But there only ever seems to be time for one of those before we land in BAH.

From BOS we've had such a fast crossing that we've beaten the baggage handlers, ground staff, and I think the immigration staff into the airport, and as a result sat on the tarmac waiting for their arrival. (Think I just went back to sleep.)

I've sat on the tarmac for extended periods of time at LHR too. One time in July without any air coming out of the vents. It got quite toasty.
