BA Executive Club Promo Code

Does anyone have a Promo Code for a new member of the BA Exec Club? I am BMI Diamond Gold and looking to see if I can get a higher initial staus at BA.

Many thanks for any help.

Welcome to FlyerTalk.

I don't believe such codes exist.

As BMI has been purchased by BA you may find that your DC account is merged into BA and status is matched later this year; however, no decision has been reached.

BA do not normally status match individuals except under very special circumstances.

Signing up for BMI gets you 1,000 miles free, it's worth spending 5 minutes doing this is there is a chance they will turn into Avios at some point.

Nothing to loose if they don't.

When I signed up my daughter last Autumn, her first return flight was in CE and she got 5,000 bonus miles. We didn't use a promo code and this promo seems entirely undocumented, but we got the miles!

That advice wasn't really aimed at the OP, just the Avios Junkies who may be reading the thread

That was the type of promo that used to be advertised a bit. I've heard plenty of unconfirmed reports from non FT people it has been running ever since.

However, it was always the case that to get it you needed a flight with X period (3 months IIRC) that was premium cabin and/or flex econ.

Must be a return as well, it seems, since parents in law did 1 CE leg on a new account and didn't get it.

BA does not match status, although as mentioned above there may be an exception if/when Diamond Club is merged into Executive Club later this year. I would expect BD*G to match to BA Silver though.

I would think BA will match BD*G to BA Gold in order to capture as many new customers as possible. M&M and Flying Blue will also be waiting in the wings to offer top tier status to ex-BDers, particularly from the regions

My rationale was that *G is around the same difficulty to obtain as oneworld sapphire and grants the same sorts of benefits. And there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that M&M will offer top tier status to all BD*G, given that its top tier requires 600K miles over two years as opposed to 36K (and will shortly only count C/F travel for this).
