Getting from Rome Ciampino Airport to Crowne Plaza Rome St Peters?

Booked a points break at CP Rome St Peters.

Can anybody advise how much is a taxi likely to cost from Rome Ciampino airport?

Also what are the alternatives in regards to public transport.

All I know is that it Ciampino airport is further than Flumicino airport form the hotel

Thanks

I think it will cost around 60 euros and certainly more than 50 in any event.

Maybe http://atac.roma.it/ gives you some information.

Take a eg bus 551 from Ciampino to metro line A go to Noda Cornelia and take another bus 889. Should not cost more than 3 Euro per person...
Roma metro is wonderfully crowded ...

Regards,

Edit, how about this ad, that popped up here on FT: http://hirelimorome.it/prezzi.html

Hello Navatwal,
CIA is a sort of low-cost city airport.
Here you'll find fares from airport to the city center:
Comune di Roma

An alternative is a coach to Termini station
http://terravision.eu/
then underground or a taxi from there.
It's cheaper, but it takes longer and it could by harder to find a taxi at Termini.
Limousine service could be cheaper than a taxi.

Hint: use only white cabs (white = licensed taxi) and avoid any proposal from other drivers.

Hotel Offers Coach Airport Shuttle Service

When I stayed at the hotel it offered a cheap if not free airport coach shuttle service - only problem is I can't remember which airport (s) - the hotel is very good in responding to emails.

Alice, I don't know which year that rate was in effect but in Mid May when I was in Rome there was a very clear sign at the official taxi stand terminal B Fumincino that said flat rate is 60 euros to Roma centro and we went to a hotel near the colliseum and the rate was exactly that. My return trip from the hotel to the airport cost 55 euros.

Is it best to contact the hotel directly and arrange a price for return airport transfers?

As the taxi prices are very high, this was meant to be a quick and cheap break.

Spending almost 100 on taxis is not cheap.

Taxi Service

I am staying at the Crowne Plaza in early July and am getting there from Ciampino by pre-booked taxi....recommended by my sister who has lived in Rome for 25 years. Mail to ROMECABS [[email protected]] or go to their web site at http://romecabs.com/ Cost is Euro45 for 2 persons plus Euro5 for the 3rd person, which given the distance, the directions, the hassle, is very reasonable. Might see you there!!

Hello Hardripples,
Thanks for the highlight , you're right, I checked that page and it is not up to date despite the fact is the Municipality of Rome official website (no wonder... )

I found a page in the ADR that should be ok!:

Just had a look on the link for the commune roma website

http://comune.roma.it/was/wps/po..._the_airports/

It says taxi's are only 30 euros from Ciampino airport to the CP in Rome.

Anyone have any experience of this service, if it is valid and really that cheap?

Any other options?

i took the terravision bus (5 euros each way if booked online) from ciampino to termini and the train to cornelia and then the bus (1 euro total for these two) to the crowne plaza. The bus stop is probably 100 feet away or so from the CP.
