Exclamation Prepaid Visa RushCard

Anyone have experience with this card? Saw it at CVS today.

1. Get cash fast when you use your RushCard at ATMs. Simply insert your card, enter your PIN, select "checking,” and enter the amount of cash you want to withdraw.
2. Pay your rent, utilities, and other bills online with Rush Bill Pay. You can also use your RushCard to pay on thousands of billers’ websites.
3. With Rush Bill Pay service, you can send checks to anyone - your landlord, your babysitter, or a family member.
4. If a merchant offers cash back, simply pay for your transaction using your PIN and select the amount of cash you want to receive. The merchant will add the amount to your transaction total, and you'll walk out with cash in hand.
5. Transferring funds from your PayPal account to your RushCard is easy and FREE. You must set up and confirm your RushCard in order to transfer funds.
To set up your RushCard, login to your PayPal account and select "Withdraw" from the My Account tab. Click "Withdraw funds to your bank account" and select “Add Bank Account.”
Enter the following information:
Account Type:Checking
Routing Number:021409169
Account Number:Your 16-digit card number or Deposit ID Number
PayPal will make 2 small deposits (less than $1.00 USD) to your RushCard within 2-3 business days. Once these deposits have been made, login to your PayPal account and click Confirm Bank Account from your Account Overview and enter the 2 amounts.
To transfer funds, login to your PayPal account and select "Withdraw" from the My Account tab. Click "Withdraw funds to your bank account."
Enter the amount you want to transfer to your RushCard, select "JP Morgan Chase Checking” from the dropdown, and click "Continue".
Click "Submit" to confirm the transfer. Transfers MUST be in the name of the cardholder and can take 3-4 business days to complete.
* You cannot transfer funds from your RushCard to PayPal.
RushCard Limits
Maximum Load - All cash-load options have a maximum load of $1,000 per calendar day.
Direct Deposits have a maximum load amount of $5,000 per calendar day (excluding tax refunds).

Interesting...
I guess it can be used like this:
- Buy PayPal reload card
- Transfer money to Rush Card
- Pay Bills / withdraw money from RushCard
-> Got shutdown by PayPal for a reason "unknown".

Yes, that's exactly why I avoid strategies involving Paypal. Heard way too many horror stories.

I'm assuming that this has to be done in small amounts. I also assume that one would need to mix in some swipes with a prepaid debit card from paypal.

Sounds a lot like MIO and netspend and we don't want to go there again. Anyone know what bank backs the card?

Same here, been doing it 4-5 months for about $2K/month (I started at $4K but slowed down with reports of shut downs). I mix in minimal spend, but otherwise I withdraw 90% or more directly to my bank account.

If you're going to risk PP, you may as well just withdraw it to BB. No fees, will count as a direct deposit, and you can bill pay from there. This seems to be too expensive fee-wise to be worth it, IMO.

The main question is - does it matter to PayPal either you are transferring money to RushCard or directly to your bank account (or BlueBird)???

I dont think there is a difference between withdrawing from paypal to your bank account or to rushcard. The instructions on the rushcard site to fund from paypal tells you to click "withdraw to bank account."
